Progress with Purpose, One Step at a Time
Individualized virtual tutoring in math (grades 5–9) and every K–6 subject — both credentialed specializations — plus reading, social studies, and STEAM support for older students, backed by five years of hands-on tutoring experience. Support without standards is just permission — so every session builds real, measurable progress.
Based in Jackson County · serving students all over West Virginia, virtually.
Hi, I'm Britney Hersman — a certified elementary educator with two specializations: K–6 elementary education and math (grades 5–9). I'm currently a virtual 7th grade math teacher and pursuing a master's in educational technology. I've also taught STEAM and coding in a brick-and-mortar classroom for a year and currently run a STEAM club. Before all of this, I spent five years tutoring college students across every subject. Steady Steps Learning LLC is my independent tutoring and homeschool portfolio review practice.
Every learner gets a personalized plan built from where they actually are — not where a pacing guide says they should be. Sessions blend discovery-first math instruction, clear progress checkpoints, and social-emotional support, because confidence and skill grow together.
Whether you're using Hope Scholarship funds, paying out of pocket, or need a portfolio review to keep your homeschool compliant, you'll get a plan that's honest about where your student stands and clear about what comes next.
Every service can be paid privately or through approved Hope Scholarship funds where eligible.
Live, virtual math support built around your student's actual gaps — fractions, ratios, expressions, geometry, and pre-algebra, from a math specialist who teaches this every day.
Well-rounded support across core subjects for any grade level — K–6 backed by a credentialed elementary specialization, grades 7–12 drawn from five years of hands-on tutoring experience.
A required annual review, done with care and clear documentation, so your homeschool stays compliant and your student's growth is recognized.
A one-time session to build a plan: where your student stands, what's realistic this year, and what kind of support fits your family.
The same climb every student takes, paced to fit them.
A short intake and, if needed, a diagnostic check to see exactly where your student is starting from.
A personalized plan with clear, realistic goals — shared with you before sessions begin.
Weekly sessions that build skill and confidence together, with steady check-ins along the way.
Regular progress updates so you always know what's improved and what's next.
